DSL and Cable Hat

Cable is dynamic, Business DSL is static. Cable Modem straight hookup to PC

Windows 98

Hook straight cable to PC and reset modem > network neighborhood > properties > configuration -add Netbuei if not on list > turn on file sharing and printing > restart computer.

IF on Network check Network Neighborhood if card is seeing network. Check green light.

Explorer > properties > connections > setup

Start > run > winipcfg > more info > release all > renew all.

Check TCP/IP if on Auto

Check Bindings

Check identification keep simple name leave Workgroup at default.

Or dos command> windows /ping yahoo.com should give reply.

Check collisions and repeat computer names.

Windows 2000

Start > programs > accessories > command prompt > ipconfig

If no go > ipconfig_all for all commands

Check Hub lights and speed, Cables

Reinstall network card drivers, Remove old first have to reinstall Jet Direct also.

Could try Win95 and different versions

Move card to another slot.

Replace Card,

Control panel>modem>should say Internal Modem and below Apple Internal

Go to Control Panel> Remote Access, change reg to guest >options connection check "use verbose" check "launch status">protocol>ppp check all.
